A Painting Of My Shadow is a work that I started in 2023 and completed in the spring of 2025, through a dance with my shadow.
She went through multiple metamorphoses; as I painted over her body and limbs, as I gave her wings and took them away.
She started as silhouette, eventually turning around to look at me, and finally showed me her face- with eyes wide open, palms open, wings open, heart and legs open, and later, even bleeding.
Her wings, which began like a skeleton, morphed into full, black, butterfly wings, embedded with the faces of a Chinese theatre archetypes.
Her wings are fully formed, strange but solid. She is surrounded by bees and flowers.
