Poem. Fire. Seeds.

July 2025

3 part performance/ ritual during the opening of “Earth is the Highest Form of Agape” (an exhibition curated by Juliet Rania as a part of Upstate Art Week) consisting of a poetry reading of the piece “Your Body is My Body, There is a River, We Must Cross it Together”, followed by a burn ritual, followed by a seed planting ritual.

This exhibition, curated by Juliet Rania, explores the ancient concept of Agape - a form of love defined by radical selflessness - unconditional, non-possessive, and rooted in care for the other. Featuring works by Aleqth, Saskia Friedrich, Danielle Gadus, William Kim, Clare Koury, Pipi Deer, Sabrina Mansouri, Jo Shane, Grace Jung, Zeljko McMullen and Nico Alonso.

This exhibition invites viewers to consider the Earth as a living embodiment of that love — a provider, sustainer, and witness to all life. Through painting, installation, sculpture and mixed media, these artists reflect on the fundamental principles of circularity, origin, and return. The works ask us to consider what we plant — literally and metaphorically — and what we will inevitably harvest, now and in generations to come.

"Driven by the forces of love, the fragments of the world seek each other so that the world may come into being."
— Pierre Teilhard de Chardin
